The tyre is available immediately in 22 sizes with rims from 15-17”, section widths from 185-235 and series sizes from 55-75. The range covers 88.5% of the light truck market for electric and traditional fuel vehicles with other sizes addressed by the original MAXMILER Pro.

It comes to market with a mix of A and B results in Wet Grip and B and C in Rolling Resistance Coefficient.

The GT Radial MAXMILER Pro2 has also become the brand’s latest dedicated light truck tyre to feature the EV Ready logo, signifying that the tyre is also compatible with growing demand of electric van vehicle (EV) , while remaining a reference for internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.

There has also been changes in load and speed indices to meet the demanding requirements of the latest single and dual axle light trucks, with 215/70R15 109 S and 225/70R15 112 S specifically addressed for the ever-popular Fiat Ducato and Peugeot Boxer.

The results have been achieved through an optimised pattern which delivers safety on dry and wet roads, improved levels of grip and handling, consistent high mileage, superior comfort and low noise levels.

A reinforced design makes the tyre highly suitable for heavy load operations with a stiff shoulder providing control and stability. Side impact protection has been further improved to shield against consistent lateral kerbside impacts.

The MAXMILER Pro name has been synonymous with the GT Radial brand since it was launched into Europe in 2015, becoming a benchmark for commercial vehicle tyres in the mid-market sector and a firm favourite with GT Radial Performance Centres around the UK.

Fabio Pecci-Boriani, Deputy General Manager for Product Planning PCR and LTR, Giti Tire R&D Centre (Europe), said: “The MAXMILER Pro name is one of our most established, recognised and successful GT Radial lines to date, so this new launch has to raise the bar significantly.

“The name is synonymous with mileage, toughness and robustness, so to maintain all those attributes while delivering a 15% increase in rolling resistance performance and an 8% improvement in wet braking really takes the tyre to a whole new level, which of course encompasses sustainability.

“The MAXMILER Pro2 delivers dynamic performance on-par with premium manufacturers’ current patterns, but the price proposition is what will drive sales for our dealer partners.

“With bigger rims, higher loads index and faster speed index, we have a perfect match for the very latest offers in the van market which also includes lighter operations like mobile home and shuttle vans, who appreciate the higher comfort and lower rolling resistance.”

The tyre was designed and engineered at Giti Tire’s European Research & Development Centre in Hannover, Germany whose core focus attributes for the project were endurance, mileage and sustainability with efficiency.
